Repairing the World: Frame by Frame

New York, NY

May 17, 2016

This is a JDC Ambassadors event.

A Photographic Window into Jewish Life around the World

With prosecco and pierogis, diplomats, artists and global philanthropists

Photography plays a special role in conveying the heart of the matter. As the famous American photographer, Ansel Adams, once said: “To photograph truthfully and effectively is to see beneath the surfaces and record the qualities of nature and humanity which live or are latent in all things.”

JDC is blessed with a group of Israeli photographers known as JDOCU who come together to learn, travel and document our work around the world. Members of the group speak about “using the camera as a tool” to highlight acts of chesed and Tikkun Olam. Their photographs bring these acts to life, frame by frame, strengthening our resolve to “be in the picture.”

In addition to JDOCU's pictures, Repairing the World will showcase the original photographs of a number of talented photographers who have been involved with JDC's humanitarian programs around the world.

This first ever exhibit in New York coincides with the release of a limited edition collection of JDOCU photographs.
